BIO BLOCK® is an environmentally-friendly replacement for home and industrial heating fuel. They have the size, shape and density required for a long, even output of heat energy. BIO BLOCKS® are a 100% natural product made of highly compacted kiln-dried sawdust and wood waste using no artificial binders. BIO BLOCKS® can be used in any appliance designed to burn firewood.
The Manufacturing Process
When highly compacted as a briquette, wood waste takes on the burning characteristics similar to coal. Burning BIO BLOCK® as a fuel completes the natural cycle; on combustion, BIO BLOCKS® only release as much carbon dioxide back into the atmosphere as was originally absorbed by the growing tree during photosynthesis. With our BIO BLOCK® presses, wood waste is reduced to a minimum volume. BIO BLOCKS® remain a natural product because no artificial binders are added during the manufacturing process. The result is a high quality BIO BLOCK®, with the same size, shape, and density.The energy contained in a BIO BLOCK® is one and a half times the energy of seasoned firewood. BIO BLOCK® are manufactured in Orrville, Ohio, U.S.A.
Comparison of BIO BLOCKS to Firewood - Heat Value and Storage
One ton of BIO BLOCK® on a 40" x 48" x 36" pallet is equivalent to:
* the BTU's of 1 1/2 Cords of firewood
* one ton takes less space to store then a 4' x 4' x 8' stack of cordwood. (BIO BLOCKS must be kept dry when stored)
